Every flag quotes the clause

ClauseShift: Know what you are actually signing.

Most AI tools just summarize and hope you trust them. ClauseShift shows its receipts: every risk it flags quotes the exact clause it came from, so you verify the wording yourself, not a black box. Plus one clear score and the deadlines you cannot miss.

What we check

Plain-English on the clauses that actually bite.

Every review breaks a contract down into the areas that decide who is on the hook, so you know what each part means before you sign, not after.

Liability

Who pays, and how much, if something goes wrong. We flag caps that are missing, too low, or one-sided.

Indemnity

Who has to cover the other side's losses and legal costs, and just how far that promise stretches.

Privacy & data

How your personal or business data can be collected, used, shared, and stored under the agreement.

Termination

When either side can walk away, the notice required, and what happens to your data afterwards.

Intellectual property

Who owns the work, ideas, and deliverables, and what rights you actually keep when it is done.

Governing law & venue

Which country's laws apply, and where any dispute would actually have to be fought out.

Why ClauseShift

It shows its work, so you never take a flag on faith.

Every flag quotes the clause

No vague summaries to take on faith. Each finding quotes the exact contract language it is worried about, so you read the words yourself and check the AI's work instead of trusting a black box.

A risk score you can act on

Every review opens with a single 0 to 10 score and a clear verdict, so you know in seconds whether to sign, push back, or walk away.

Never miss a deadline

Renewal, notice, and expiry dates are pulled out automatically and tracked, with email reminders before the windows close.

Ask your contract questions

“Can I terminate early?” “Who owns the work?” Ask right on the report and get an answer drawn only from the contract itself, with the clause it came from quoted. If the contract is silent, it says so instead of guessing.

Re-review every negotiation round

Run the revised draft against your previous report and see exactly what changed: which risks were resolved, which survived the rewording, what new risk crept in, and how the score moved.

Share a read-only report

Send a colleague or client a clean, read-only link to any report. No account needed on their side, and you can revoke the link whenever you like.

How it works

From a wall of legalese to a clear decision in three steps.

  1. 01

    Add the contract

Upload a PDF or DOCX, paste the text, upload an audio recording to transcribe, or simply email it to review@clauseshift.com. Lease, NDA, employment offer, vendor terms, anything.

  2. 02

Your first review gets the full cross-check

Your first contract runs through two premium models, on us. Pro and credit-backed reviews keep that cross-check on every contract; standard free reviews use one model.

  3. 03

    Get your report

A plain-English risk report you can read, export, or share: scored findings, cited clauses, and the key dates to diarise.

Your contracts stay yours

Built for documents you would not paste into a chatbot.

Contracts are sensitive. They are not used to train AI, and we do not keep the file you upload, so you can hand one over without handing over control of it.

We don't keep your documents

Your contract is analyzed and the report is returned, we don't retain the file you upload. Your contract is not used to train AI, by ClauseShift or its providers.

Delete anything, anytime

Remove a single report or wipe your whole account in a tap. When it is gone, it is gone, no support ticket required.

Encrypted in transit

Every upload travels over HTTPS, and each account can only ever reach its own reports. No public links unless you create one.

Not a black box

Every flag quotes the exact clause it came from, and each quote is checked word for word against your document, so you never take the AI on faith.

Questions

Everything you might be wondering.

How is this different from pasting my contract into ChatGPT?

A general chatbot gives you a summary you have to take on faith, and it can quietly invent terms that are not in your document. ClauseShift shows its receipts: every risk it flags quotes the exact clause it came from, so you can check the wording yourself. It also runs each contract through two independent models and consolidates what they agree on, scores the overall risk, and pulls out the key dates, none of which you get from a single open-ended chat prompt.

Is ClauseShift free to use?

Yes. Every account gets three standard contract reviews a month for free, with no credit card required, and the first review is upgraded to the full two-model Pro cross-check on us. Lite is $9 per month for ten two-model reviews. Pro is $29 per month for the two-model cross-check on every contract, higher fair-use limits, and deadline reminders. Pay-as-you-go review credits are available too if you would rather not subscribe.

What kinds of contracts can it review?

Leases, NDAs, employment offers, vendor and SaaS terms, freelance and service agreements, in short, almost any text-based contract. You can upload a PDF or DOCX, paste the text in, upload an existing audio recording to transcribe, or forward it by email.

Can I email a contract in instead of uploading it?

Yes. Forward the contract (as an attachment or pasted into the email body) to review@clauseshift.com from the email address on your ClauseShift account. The full report is saved to your dashboard and you get a reply email with the score and top findings. It uses the same plan and credits as the app, so Pro and credit-backed reviews get the dual-model cross-check by email too.

Can it compare two versions of a contract?

Yes. Contracts get negotiated in rounds, so ClauseShift lets you re-review a revised draft against your previous report. You see which risks were resolved, which survived the rewording (including risk levels that went up or down), what new risk was introduced, and how the overall score moved. Every finding still quotes the exact clause.

Can I ask follow-up questions about my contract?

Yes. Every report has an ask box: questions like “Can I terminate early?” or “Who owns the intellectual property?” are answered only from the contract itself, with the clause the answer is based on quoted underneath. If the contract does not address something, ClauseShift says so plainly instead of guessing. Free accounts get a few questions a day; Pro gets a much higher allowance.

How accurate is the analysis?

Every flag quotes the exact clause it is based on, so you can verify the wording yourself instead of trusting a black box. Full Pro reviews, including your free first review and credit-backed reviews, also run through two independent models and consolidate what they agree on. Standard free reviews use one model. ClauseShift is a fast, evidence-backed first pass, not a replacement for a lawyer on the contracts that really matter.

Is my contract data private, and do you train AI on it?

ClauseShift trains no AI of its own, and we don't keep the document you upload; only the generated report is saved. The third-party AI and transcription providers that process submitted content have confirmed in writing that they do not use it to train their models. Your saved reports are tied to your account, are never resold, and you can delete any report, or your whole account, at any time.

Is ClauseShift a substitute for a lawyer?

No. ClauseShift gives you plain-English, informational risk summaries to help you understand an agreement faster. It is not legal advice, and important contracts should still be reviewed by a qualified professional.

Do I need to install anything?

No. ClauseShift runs in any web browser today, so you can review a contract right now. There is also an Android app on Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, and Huawei AppGallery, or as a direct download from our site, plus a Windows app on the Microsoft Store. An iPhone app is on the way.
